For more than 80 years, the families behind ValleyView Organics and parent company Newton Orchards have worked with pride to make Manjimup “the home of crunchy apples.

Established in 1929, our founders were brothers George and Harold Newton, who travelled alone to WA as “ten pound Poms” at the tender ages of just 15 and 16. George’s son in law Harvey Giblett has been at the helm since the 1990s, continuing a strong ethos of quality and innovation.

Manjimup has long been recognised as one of the best places in the world to grow apples – especially our own Pink Lady, developed here in the 1980s.

We began organic conversion on one of three conventionally-grown Manjimup orchards in 2008, driven by rising consumer demand for safe food and guaranteed food integrity, with Australian consumers following established trends in the US and European markets. In 2012 we attained ACO-certification at our ValleyView property, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of large-scale organic orcharding in WA.

Quality remains a driving ethos for us - we don’t believe that buying organic means you should expect lower fruit eating quality, as has sometimes been the historical case with organic fresh produce.
